Hush Arbors - Since We Have Fallen

http://www.omgvinyl.com/2009/10/16/hush-arbors-since-we-have-fallen-lp/

Harvest Records just issued a beautiful 180 gram LP version of the Hush Arbors cd-r, “Since We Have Fallen”.  The packaging on this is very impressive.  The black design was letterpressed on thick cardstock, which is held together by black rivets, then die-cut to open like a barn door.  As for the music, it’s lo-fi psychedelic folk, good stuff for sure.  This is a seriously deluxe package for $16.  Visit Harvest-Records.com.

Consider it done!

sundog peacehouse! heard on bill's show.

 ltd#101: sundog peacehouse "brosound" c53 $7 US / $8 CAN/MEX / $9 INTL
the first time i heard this trio i was absolutely smitten. sundog peacehouse are chris mucci, sal farina and austin redwood and will soon be taking over their native pittsburgh by lulling everyone into a codeine coma. shimmering walls of heavily-processed vocals, guitars and samples ease you down into emerald green pools of total bliss. pure waves of spiralling sonics drench you and hold you close. there is something so unbelievably comforting about this music that it's impossible to get away from, impossible to ignore. having shared bills with caboladies (past) and bardo pond (future), you get any idea where these soaring aural dreams are going to take you. sundog peacehouse are stunning, simply put. don't wait around for the surf to break you out, just stay sunkissed and in love. edition of 70, fuschia waves to the stars.

Nudge!

"We Love Kranky" sent you a message on Facebook...

--------------------
Subject: new Kranky release info: Nudge "As Good As Gone"

Nudge "As Good As Gone"

7 songs.  Nudge returns with a slow burning full-length of sounds perfect for the dying days of the summer's swelter. Nudge is Brian Foote (Fontanelle) with collaborators Paul Dickow (Strategy) and Honey Owens (Valet). Brian is also known as a producer for Lotus Plaza and Atlas Sound amongst others.

The varied stylistic shifts of previous material have garnered their fair share of comments regarding a schizophrenic nature, but here the experimental lean of the group is placed to deliver it's most cohesive sound to date. Masterfully blurring the music's entangled live and programmed approaches to the point of imperceptibility, layer upon layer of synth, guitar and vocals are draped over skeletal pop structures and anchored by dub basslines born of resin-stained fingers. Covered in an electric blanket of atmosphere that can surely only come from years in outer space memorizing the top of one's shoes, the gothic trappings reveal themselves as hard-earned circles beneath the eyes as opposed to poorly applied hot topic nail polish.

As Good As Gone is a proper album whose arc is intended to be absorbed stem to stern.

Nudge is a slightly loose collective orbiting Los Angeles based musician Brian Foote, with the intent to push forward with emergent technologies and antiquated kit alike. His prime collaborators are Paul Dickow who works solo as Strategy, and Honey Owens who records under the Valet moniker.

This album follows the Infinity Padlock EP on Audraglint and the 2005 album Cached (Kranky). With such a gap between full-lengths, it would be easy to think Foote has been slacking, but nothing could be further from the truth as he’s been busy collaborating with Valet and Strategy, racking up mix/production credits with Atlas Sound, Lotus Plaza and Signaldrift, and touring as an ensemble player of Valet and Atlas Sound Music Group.

Stuff People Said (about Nudge's first album, Cached)

"The truly compelling aspect of Cached is not its construction, but how it continuously reconstructs itself." - The Wire

"Cached captures a band in perpetual motion, adventurously pursuing diverse paths in every song." Textura

"A highly creative, stimulating, and freaky little dubbed-out winner." Foxy Digitalis
